When I see artists striving to make a social impact through the work of their hands, I’m inspired not to mentioned challenged. This is a shout-out on behalf of a fellow artist and friend, Freedom Rodriguez, who is doing just that.
Freedom created ‘The Face To Face Initiative’ and set out to paint the portraits of people who are facing life’s most difficult circumstances and to share their hope with the world. Proceeds from the original artwork help to support the organizations serving the people represented.
“Facing Freedom is an independent Documentary chronicling the journey of Atlanta based artist Freedom Rodriguez into creative activism. After Freedom visits the slums of Kenya and comes face to face with the clients of Care for Aids he finds inspiration in their stories for a new portrait series and is left wondering, can art make a social impact?”
